Yes and No. Acupuncture is only a small part of TCM. Although it’s the most well known and mostly commonly used aspect in the west, its not the only modality used.
Most people use symptoms or pain as a gauge for well-being. Unfortunately this is a poor indicator of health. In fact, symptoms usually only set in after you have lost a significant amount of function. For instance, Kidneys can often lose 50% of function with out showing any “real” signs of a problem. Waiting until you lose enough for symptoms to show up, can put your health at significant risk.
yes and no. of course as you age there will be signs of damage and your body function will become less efficient. However, you can adjust for much of this and take steps to counterbalance weaknesses due to chronological age or genetics. You can not stop aging, but you can slow it down by maintaining your well-being.
NO, the products we use are all “physician only” products. We chose the companies very carefully based on nutritional research and the company’s reputation, to make sure you have access to the best products. When you shop at the local health food store, there are many inferior products that use fillers, or the wrong dosage, or the wrong form of a vitamin, making them less bio-available. If you can’t digest the supplement, you are literally flushing your money down the toilet.
Before you can sign up for the annual plan, we need to first make sure your body is already in balance. If your body is not in balance then we need to make some corrections first. The annual plan is to maintain your optimal wellness once balance is achieved.
NO. only your doctor can take you off of your prescriptions and we encourage you to speak to him or her about the changes you are making. We want to be part of your wellness team, and each member of that team serves a purpose. Ours is to help you maintain your health, educate you and help you readjust your body and your habits as your body changes. This doesn’t mean you will never get sick, but a healthy body does get sick less often.
If you don’t have anything specific you want to address, then we recommend you start with a simple, but comprehensive bio terrain test. If you are a woman over 40 or have a family history of osteoporosis, then we recommend the bio terrain test with the osteomark test included. This will give you a more holistic picture of how your body is operating, and what you can do to ensure you stay on track.
We use an easy, non-invasive urinalysis test that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Our lab is located in CA. They will send you a sample cup with step by step instructions. You fill up the cup and mail it back. Easy. In the meantime, we will look at other factors, and when the lab test comes back, we will schedule a time with you to go over a report of findings complete with recommendations.
